Following showers of praise at IPC APEX EXPO 2012, the number of exhibitor contracts for the 2013 event is nearing double-digit growth over the same time last year. On 22 May 2012, IPC will begin the space selection process for the 2013 show in San Diego.

“Eleven percent more square footage has been contracted to date,” explains IPC Sales Director Mary Mac Kinnon (pictured). “That’s 111,300 sq. ft. contracted so far and we’re still nine months away. We’re busy in the best sense of the word.”

As exhibitor requests for increased presence at IPC APEX EXPO 2013 continue to come in, Mac Kinnon is not concerned about finding adequate space. “Next year’s exhibition will take place on one floor and we have room to grow. Our number one priority is to ensure that our exhibitors and attendees have the best and most comfortable environment to conduct and grow business.”

Glowing postshow surveys from IPC APEX EXPO participants have affirmed the buzz that rang throughout the 2012 show: attendees and exhibitors alike met their goals for networking, technical exchange, education and sales leads.

Jason Spera, CEO, Aegis Software, was pleased with his experience on-site. “The show’s been great and I’ve heard it from everybody. We’re leaving the show quite pleased.”

On the side of the show for suppliers to board manufacturers, Lino Sousa, President, MicroCraft Inc., noted: “It was a great show. The customers have budgets and are expanding and buying new equipment.”

Just as pleased with IPC APEX EXPO, an overwhelming majority of attendees indicated through the survey that the show met or exceeded their objectives for training and education, exposure to new products and suppliers, networking with colleagues and visiting suppliers. In addition, many noted that attending the show would save them valuable time and money for the rest of the year.

William Graack, a manufacturing engineer with iTECH, commented: “A large spike in new products created a demand for a lot of new technologies at my company. In two days at IPC APEX EXPO, we were able to get insights into implementing these solutions. Having so many resources in one location is a huge plus for any company.”

Miguel Rosado, a PCB designer for Tri-Tronics Inc., pointed out the value of the technical information he received. “The designer CID class was very informative and I immediately used several of the topics that we covered in my day-to-day activities as a PCB designer.”

IPC APEX EXPO 2013 will take place from 19-21 February at the San Diego Convention Center.
