Lean and Six Sigma specialist joins DEK

The appointment of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt-certified Smith Hou to the position of Business Unit Manager has recently been announced by DEK.
The new recruit is charged with enhancing operations efficiency at the screen printing specialist.
Hou brings with him over fifteen years’ experience as an Operations Manager, having worked at several Fortune 500 companies. DEK’s new Business Unit Manager has spent his career leading on many Lean Six Sigma projects, driving results spanning cost reductions, process optimisation, quality improvements and space savings.
Commenting on his appointment, Hou explains: “I’m delighted to be joining the experienced team at DEK, a company which is pioneering in its approach to lean and other progressive manufacturing ideologies. I’m looking forward to working with the whole team to improve our operations systems even further, taking company productivity to a whole new level, in line with DEK’s commitment to continued improvement.”
Hou will report to DEK’s Director of Operations, Nigel Roberts, who adds: “Smith’s experience in the field of Lean and Six Sigma will prove invaluable to our team, which has already taken a progressive stance in this area. I’m confident he can apply his knowledge to make an important contribution to supply chain integration, process improvement and ultimately, standardisation. Our customers can expect more from DEK every time they partner with us. However, when it comes to lean, it’s the one time when expecting less really is more!”
