EPDT magazine May 2019 issue (inc. PXI supplement) now available online
01 May 2019
This month’s issue, available in print or digital editions, contains features on Lighting technologies & Rail applications, as well as EPDT's annual PXI for T&M supplement.
Our cover story explores the UK’s Digital Rail strategy (p19), which is also the focus of our Railtex show preview (p21 digital issue or web version).
For Rail, weight reduction, expanding data capabilities and speeding up train maintenance are also covered (p15).
In Lighting, we review how design engineers can benefit from UV curing when 3D printing prototypes (p18 digital issue or web version), as well as how they can rapidly build powerful IoT-based LED lighting & sensor systems for greenhouses (p7).
This issue also includes EPDT's annual PXI for T&M supplement (p23), which opens with an introduction from the PXISA President (p24 digital issue or web version), before covering the role of PXI in 5G NR tests (p26), leveraging FPGA industry standards (p29), using programmable resistors for sensor simulation (p32), avoiding test system downtime with CableSense technology (p36) and maximising performance of PXI-based ATE using mass interconnects (p38).
And finally, my regular STEM column explores Britain’s first purpose-built Engineering university, NMiTE (p42 digital issue or web version).
As always, I hope you enjoy the issue – and I’d love to hear what you think or any ideas for topics you’d like EPDT to cover. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org...
