Raspberry Pi-based voice recognition platform launches

17 March 2017

MATRIX Labs launched MATRIX Voice – a powerful voice-control platform to rival Google Home and Amazon Echo.

Rather than operate as a rigid, closed-sourced platform, MATRIX Voice is a completely open-sourced IoT dev board that provides makers of virtually any skill-level with the ability to design and build their own voice-control apps, or integrate with Echo, Alexa, or Google Home to modify/ expand upon these products' functionality.

While small in size (3.14" in diameter), and priced at only $45, it's packed with components and features such as a radial array of 7 MEMS microphones connected to a Xilinx Spartan6 FPGA & 64 Mbit SDRAM with 18 RGBW LED’s & 64 GPIO pins.
