Sponsorship for Bath University's Zero Emissions Motorcycle team

Newbury Innovation has agreed to sponsor the 2016-17 Bath Zero Emissions Motorcycle team.

The team, which consists of 34 students studying engineering will design and build a bike to compete in the MotoE season in the summer of 2017. They are aiming to be the first university team to pass the 100mph average speed barrier for the Isle of Man TT Zero course and to improve on the two podium finishes achieved in last year's race series by their predecessors. Under the terms of the agreement Newbury Innovation and its sister company Newbury Electronics will work with the students and provide PCBs up to a value of £500.


MotoE is an official European Championship for electric motorcycle racers. Teams from the across the globe, battle each other in five rounds within Europe for the privilege to call themselves the Moto E European Cup Champions. Electric superbikes have led the advancement of clean transport technology since the world's first fully sanctioned all electric race took place in 2009 during the Isle of Man TT races. MotoE follows in TTXGP, the eGrandPrix's footsteps and is a five round European championship cup.
